Device-only collections
Without signing in, your collection, photos, notes, Trash, and unfinished work are saved in this browser’s storage. Clearing browser data can remove them. Downloaded backups are files you control. Browser storage is tied to the site address, so collections from our previous address need a backup and restore to move here.
Signing in with Google
Google confirms your identity using basic sign-in permissions. clutterhop uses your Google account identifier to derive an internal account ID and stores your display name and a temporary sign-in session. We do not request Gmail, Drive, contacts, or calendar access. We do not store your Google password or Google access/refresh tokens. Secure session cookies keep you signed in for up to seven days.
Account saving
When signed in, your collection, photos, private notes, Trash, and unfinished work sync to private Cloudflare storage. Access is checked against your signed-in account. Signing in does not automatically upload your device-only collection: use “Import device-only listings” to copy it into your account. The account panel tells you whether changes are saved in the cloud or still waiting on this device.
Signed-in collections are also cached in your browser. Signing out hides them and revokes that session; local caches may remain to protect unsynced changes. On a shared device, confirm your cloud save and backups before clearing browser data.
Optional helpers and selling sites
Price lookups send search words to the relevant lookup service. The optional photo helpers send the selected image and relevant item information to the service described in their consent prompt: Cloudflare AI for AI suggestions, or Google Cloud Vision for photo search. When you pick a matching product, clutterhop opens that store’s public page to read its details (name, brand, model, barcode and price); your photo is not sent to the store. Review that prompt before using a helper. External search links open other services, whose privacy practices apply there.
Buying photo searches
Optional packs of 200 photo searches are paid through Stripe Checkout. clutterhop never sees or stores your card details. We keep only your account’s search balance and a record of each purchase (Stripe’s checkout and payment IDs, the number of searches, the amount and the date) so searches can be added and refunds handled.
clutterhop prepares listings; you choose what to copy, download, and post to a marketplace. Private notes are excluded from prepared public listing text. Review every listing and photo before posting.
Retention and removal
Moving an item to Trash is reversible. Permanently deleting it removes it from this device’s collection and from the next successfully saved account snapshot. Other offline devices and downloaded backups can still contain earlier copies. Expired login records are cleaned during later sign-in attempts. Account collections remain until you remove their contents or delete your account.
You can delete your account yourself under Account options in the app. That permanently removes your cloud collection and photos, signs you out on every device, and removes any unused paid searches. We keep the purchase records described above for accounting and refunds, without your collection. Items saved only on a device, and downloaded backups, are not affected.
If you can’t sign in to delete your account, contact support@clutterhop.com. We may need to verify control of the account before acting. You can also revoke clutterhop’s Google connection in your Google Account settings; that alone does not delete an existing clutterhop collection.
Feedback and support
If you send feedback from the app, we save your message, the email address you choose to give (if any), which screen you were on, the app version and your browser type, and, if you’re signed in, your internal account ID so we can help with your account. It may also be emailed to our support inbox. To limit spam we store a daily code made from your network address with a secret key, never the address itself. Messages are deleted after a year, and deleting your account removes the link between your account and past messages.
Hosting and service operation
Cloudflare hosts the app and stores account data. Requests can produce operational logs and network information, including IP addresses, used for service operation, security, and rate limits. Google and optional lookup providers process requests under their own policies. Avoid including sensitive personal information, children’s identifying details, or unrelated people in listing photos and notes.
AI usage limits use a monthly hash of the network address plus the request date and a random request ID. This usage ledger does not contain photos or listing text. Entries older than the previous calendar month are removed when a later AI request is accepted.
